Attention Future Altar Servers
Any boy or girl in grade 4 or above interested in becoming an altar server should call Stephanie Whelan in the Parish Office, 545-3335, or email swhelan@stmaryscituate.org by September 1. Training and informational meetings will take place during the month of September. Assisting at Mass is a unique opportunity for our young parishioners to become better Catholics and to grow in their faith as they grow in their life. Requirements to become an altar server include
· knowledge of the mass,
· weekly attendance at mass,
· willing, attentive and active participants in the mass
· a commitment to the ministry if you choose to join.

11:30 Youth Mass
April 6 we began the Youth (Teenage) Liturgy of the Word at our 11:30 Mass. Our PPC along with other involved Parishioners have worked to begin this special Ministry of Word and Song for our Young People. This special service is a result of direct requests by our young people. Please pray for this.

Family and Children's Liturgy
Sundays at 8:30

JOIN Youth Choir -- Every Other Sunday -- 11:30AM Mass
There is an effort to create an additional youth choir here at St. Mary’s which will play and sing at every other Sunday mass at 11:30 am. People, especially young people of the parish who are able and willing, who can sing or play an instrument are encouraged to volunteer. If you are a soloist or like to sing and harmonize, or are willing to learn, this may be a good opportunity for you to participate in a special way at mass. This is all to complement the effort of the new young people’s liturgy which will also be starting in April. Any questions, please call Len Palmer, 781-545-8307, or 781-534-3687.

be a big brother
Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay is in need of volunteers. All it takes to be a Big Brother or Big Sister is a willingness to spend a couple of hours or so a few times a month for a year. It can make a huge difference in the life of a child. Those few hours can be spent doing whatever the Big and Little want to do - as simple as running errands, as routine as playing ball or flying a kite or as exciting as attending sports events. Most Bigs say it’s perhaps the most rewarding thing they've ever done, and it’s a lot of fun too. There is professional team of Match Advocates to provide support, advice and tickets or suggestions for enjoyable things to do. The need is now! Please consider the gift of your time to a child...a gift that will return to you ten-fold! For more information about becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, contact Tina Clemens Houghton at 617-542-9090 or thoughton@bbbsmb.org.
Thank you.
