THE SPIRITUAL CARE OF
THE SICK AND AGED

If someone is unable to attend Church due to age or infirmity, please inform us so that the Sacraments may be administered.

R.C.I.A
(Rite of Christian Initiation  of Adults)
Our Parish has a very active R.C.I.A. program, which meets weekly beginning each fall. Those adults who have not been baptized in the Catholic Church or those who have been baptized but never received the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation are instructed and welcomed into the practice of the faith within a community of believers. Please call Jane Kuklis at 545-3335 ext. 212 for further details. Our team of dedicated parishioners are here waiting to walk this faith journey with you. You are in the prayers of the entire parish!

Insert, week of August 24
What is ARISE: Together in Christ?· ARISE is a three year parish centered process of spiritual renewal and evangelization.· ARISE has been designed specifically for the Archdiocese of Boston by RENEW International.
How will ARISE: Together in Christ help this parish? ARISE enables people:
· to deepen their faith
· develop a closer relationship with Christ
· grow in community
· reach out in service to others.
Why are all parishes in the Archdiocese asked to participate in ARISE: Together in Christ?

Cardinal Séan O’Malley has invited all Catholics of the Archdiocese of Boston to come together:
· to form a renewed community of faith,
· to welcome back those who may have been distanced
from the Church,
· to spread the good News through active commitment to charity and justice.
For questions or more information, please call Jane at
781-545-3335 x 212.RENEW will begin in October '08.

Are you wondering about our new program?
Would you like to be a small group leader for the 6-week sessions? Would you like to be part of a faith sharing community that meets for 6 weeks twice a year to deepen their faith and relationships with other Catholics? Please call Jane Kuklis at 781-545-3335 ext. 212.

Liturgical Celebrations

Parish Grand Annual collection
August 23 & 24 is the third and final phase of the Parish Grand Annual Collection. Thank you to the Parishioners who have responded so generously. Your personal financial support is needed and valued in our commitment to “serve the Lord and each other.” Envelopes are available at the entrances of the church and chapel.

special collection
Little Sisters of the Poor: August 30 & 31, the Little Sisters of the Poor will be visiting our Parish. One of the Sisters will say a few words after Communion and then they will stand at the doors of the church to receive your offering. The Little Sisters are an international Religious Congregation whose only mission in the Church is to care for the elderly poor in homes where love, respect and compassionate care until death are offered to the elderly. The Little Sisters have been serving the elderly poor of Massachusetts for the past 137 years. They do not receive help from the diocese, but count on God through the goodness of the people to sustain this mission in the Church and our Diocese. The Little Sisters are grateful to each of you for whatever you are able to do for them.

FRIDAY, September 6
IS FIRST FRIDAY

Friday, September 6th is First Friday. Adoration & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in the chapel immediately following the 7:30 am Mass and will continue throughout the day ending with Evening Prayer at 4:45 pm.

First Fridays are a devotional practice honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus in which members of the Church observe the first Friday of each month by receiving Holy Communion.

According to promises which it is claimed Jesus made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, those who follow this practice for nine consecutive months will be granted special graces such as final perseverance in faith and the consolation of Christ's love in their final hour.

You can pick up information packets with pledge forms in the back of the church to be mailed in, or for more information please visit www.BostonCatholicAppeal.com or call 617-779-3700.
Every gift matters. Thank you.

THE VOCATION CROSS PROGRAM
The Vocation Cross Program: If you would like to take the crucifix home for one week and pray for vocations, the sign-up sheet is in the vestibule of the church. We are hopeful that this will be a positive prayerful experience for you and your family.

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Loving God, help us follow the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary in willingly giving ourselves in service to your church. Stir up the grace of priestly and religious vocations in the hearts of many within our community and send your Spirit to guide and strengthen them in answering your call. Amen.

11:30 Youth Mass
The Youth (Teenage) Liturgy of the Word is at our 11:30 Mass. Our PPC along with other involved Parishioners provide this special Ministry of Word and Song for our Young People. This special service is a result of direct requests by our young people. Please pray for this.
