Little Sisters of the Poor: August 30 & 31, the Little
Sisters of the Poor will be visiting our Parish. One of the
Sisters will say a few words after Communion and then they will
stand at the doors of the church to receive your offering. The
Little Sisters are an international Religious Congregation whose
only mission in the Church is to care for the elderly poor in
homes where love, respect and compassionate care until death are
offered to the elderly. The Little Sisters have been serving the
elderly poor of Massachusetts for the past 137 years. They do
not receive help from the diocese, but count on God through the
goodness of the people to sustain this mission in the Church and
our Diocese. The Little Sisters are grateful to each of you for
whatever you are able to do for them.
FRIDAY, September 6
IS FIRST FRIDAY
Friday, September 6th is First Friday. Adoration & Exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament will take place in the chapel immediately following
the 7:30 am Mass and will continue throughout the day ending with
Evening Prayer at 4:45 pm.
First Fridays are a devotional practice honoring the Sacred Heart of
Jesus in which members of the Church observe the first Friday of each
month by receiving Holy Communion.
According to promises which it is claimed
Jesus made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, those who follow this practice
for nine consecutive months will be granted special graces such as final
perseverance in faith and the consolation of Christ's love in their
final hour.
WEDDINGS
Marriages must be arranged six months in advance. To make
arrangements, please call the Parish Center at
(781) 545-3335 ext. 110.
BAPTISMS
Group Baptisms are
usually scheduled the second and the last Sunday of every month at 1:00 pm.
Pre-baptismal Catechesis
(classes) are required for first time parents and are held the
second Sunday of the month at 11:00am Mass in the Parish Center.
Registration is required for
both. Please call the Parish Office during office hours to register.

August 17 update: Thank you to all supporters of the 2008
Catholic Appeal.
Our parish has raised $41,673 from 135 households, reaching 83%
of our parish goal of $50,500. If you have not yet pledged,
please consider a gift today and help us meet our goal.
Remember, our parish will receive 25% of all funds we raise
above our goal. You can pick up information packets with pledge
forms in the back of the church to be mailed in, or for more
information please visit
www.BostonCatholicAppeal.com or call 617-779-3700.
Every gift matters. Thank you.
THE
VOCATION CROSS PROGRAM
The Vocation Cross Program: If you would like to take the crucifix
home for one week and pray for vocations, the sign-up sheet is in the vestibule
of the church. We are hopeful that this will be a positive prayerful experience
for you and your family.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Loving God, help us follow the
example of the Blessed Virgin Mary in willingly giving ourselves
in service to your church. Stir up the grace of priestly and
religious vocations in the hearts of many within our community
and send your Spirit to guide and strengthen them in answering
your call. Amen.
11:30 Youth Mass
The Youth (Teenage) Liturgy
of the Word is at our 11:30 Mass. Our PPC along with other involved
Parishioners provide this special Ministry of Word
and Song for our Young People. This special service is a result
of direct requests by our young people. Please pray for this.
