Parish Pastoral Council (PPC):
Parish Pastoral Council: The results of the elections held for
four members to serve six years are: Andrew Don, Margie
Ohrenberger, Martha Tansey and Richard Travers. We welcome them
to the role of advisors and guiders of our parish faith
community. They are charged with being spreaders of the “Good
News of Jesus Christ” in our Parish. Their role is to help
develop the vision and goals of our parish life. I wish to thank
the members of the Parish Council who prepared, worked on and
finalized the election. The excellent posters and biographies
that were on display in the front Church lobby were gratefully
appreciated by many people. On behalf of the Parish, I wish to
thank Richard Blake, Michael Devine, Bob Hoffman and Karen
McSweeney for their dedication and service to our Parish these
last years. I also wish to express the appreciation to the other
participants in the Parish Council election. We hope that you
will join with the Council as committee members.
The following four parishioners have
been elected to serve a six-year term on the PPC commencing in
October 2008: Andrew Don, Margie Ohrenberger, Martha Tansey and
Rich Travers. At this time, the PPC is also pleased to announce
that all of the other nominees have expressed an interest in
serving our faith community over the next two years by serving
on one or more of the PPC Committees. Additional volunteers are
also most welcome at this time! Finally, the PPC would like to
take this opportunity to thank the more than five hundred
parishioners who took the time to vote in the recent election.
Your interest and efforts to continue to strive to build God’s
kingdom in Scituate are sincerely appreciated.

Parish Finance Council (PFC):
The Parish Finance Council
offers the Pastor financial advice for the purpose of furthering
the Mission and holy work of the Parish. The Council is
appointed by the Pastor composed of various lay people of
different professional and personal backgrounds. Members include
women and men who have been involved in large and closely held
business corporations, non for profit associations, and advisory
boards for religious and community endeavors.
The Council meets between
six and eight times a year. The Council members address long and
short term financial matters for the Parish and also assist in
reviewing appropriate personnel policy issues (salary, benefits
etc.) . The Council approves the annual budget and attempts to
advise the Pastor in prioritizing budgetary matters. The Council
monitors the budget as the year progresses. In the Fall
following the end of a fiscal year, the Council submits a
written report to all Parishioners for their knowledge.
The Council helps
determine the short and long term capital maintenance and
improvement budgets and expenses. The Council also assists in
developing plans for Parish Income.
